About Us
Who We Are
The Wolf Practice is a Supply Chain intelligence practice with specialty areas being, mainly and not exclusively, Pharma & Medical Devices, FMCG, Retail.
We provide strategic advice, vision and direction in all those environments where the Supply Chain function requires full establishment or just a boost, grounded on proven expertise.
We do this starting from Intelligence, to break the rules of conventional thinking through Instinct and use Insight to make relevant changes that last over time and get embedded into organisations’ DNA through Influence.
With fervent conviction, we firmly stand by the belief that the Supply Chain is frequently seen as nothing more than an enabler, regrettably squandering an immense opportunity to seize a momentous competitive advantage through the boundless power of customer affection.
The Founder’s story
A journey of learning, entrepreneurship and determination.
I’m Mirko Senatore, and I’m the founder of The Wolf Practice.
I come from Salerno, a small town in Southern Italy blessed by the beautiful Amalfi Coast. When I was a kid, like many others, I didn’t pay a lot of attention to my future career: I knew I loved to play football, which I did regularly… yet, alas, my football playing skills didn’t quite match my ambitions of becoming a professional! Some of my other childhood passions, though, were art and architecture – kind of understandable having been raised in Italy, a country whose history and heritage are steeped in both.
Still, as I was growing older, life took over and my career took a completely different path. At age 24 I left my home town and went on to live in a number of European capitals, from Rome to London, via Brussels.
I started off working in academia after graduating, then I moved into consultancy, and eventually ended up in big pharma Supply Chain. I still remember that, at first, I knew close to nothing about Supply Chain… and even less about pharma. But my employer needed strong arms, a can-do attitude, a fast-learning ability, and some pioneering entrepreneurial spirit. None of which were scarce at my end. I learnt a lot along the way and honed and supported my practical Supply Chain know-how with rigorous academic education.
The Brand Story
From Corporate to Creation, a transformative Supply Chain philosophy grounded in human values and the four I’s.
Fast-forward seventeen years and there I was, deciding to leave the blue-chip world behind to venture out on my own. I wanted to give my entrepreneurial spirit a boost. I wanted to define a new way of working that could match my vision, values, and beliefs. I wanted to hone my passions for teaching, coaching and leading others. I wanted to go back to my roots and heritage and, somehow, rekindle my passion for architecture. And I wanted to do all this by leveraging the technical expertise and functional knowledge that I had acquired along the way.
That is how The Wolf Practice came to life. I felt the burning need to refocus and reemphasise the value of human beings and their relationships by putting them firmly at the heart of all areas of the business, which is of even greater importance at a time of major digitisation.
Hence, the philosophy of The Wolf Practice, which is rooted in humanity, nature, and Mother Earth. The wolf is an animal whose key traits can be summarised by the four I’s: Intelligence, Instinct, Insight, Influence. All characteristics which also are central to my practice and critical in the Supply Chain arena. Wolves are often depicted as lonely animals, but they are agile creatures who generally roam in packs, displaying enduring loyalty, forging deep and lasting social bonds, whilst fiercely protecting their family and their communities. As such, The Wolf Practice builds on this ethos and strives to forge enduring bonds with its partners, or co-creators, by helping clients untangle their specific Supply Chain issues when they are needed most.
And, since the idea was for me to also to go back to my origins, Architecting the future Supply Chain reflects the core essence of The Wolf Practice. It reflects my vision to design, build and translate Supply Chain innovation into commercial reality.
When I think about art, architecture, and Italy altogether, the first name that comes to mind is that of the great Leonardo Da Vinci, renowned for his remarkable creativity, philosophical imagination, and intellectual curiosity. Unavoidably then, the Leonardo Methodology is the backbone of all of The Wolf Practice’s initiatives.
Our Purpose
People First, to think creatively and truly empathize with our clients
Wolf’s purpose is all about adding unique, relevant, and specific value through the imagination and creativity required to think outside of the box, the intellectual and technical competence needed to tell true opportunities from mere risks, and the insight and empathy necessary to wear the client’s shoes and genuinely understand the context they operate in and the future challenges they face – all that, without ever forgetting that at the heart of any Supply Chain there are, ultimately, people. Who, above all, deserve to be valued, respected, and empowered.
